Diana & Photography

Diana is a friend of mine & she's recently dove head in to photography. She's always been interested in it, but has gotten quite serious in the last year or so. I went over to her house last week to hang out & take some photos. Here are some she took of me that I quite like. Hopefully I'll get the ones I took of her soon. The LA Zoo

Last week I went to the LA Zoo with my friend Gigi, who has been trying to exercise her busted knee. I'm not sure how many times I said "aw" or my heart melted at some cute animal doing something well, cute... but it was a lot.

This Koala bear was freaking adorable. The Zebra took a roll in the dirt and it was hilarious. This Giraffe looked like it was making out with a tree. The Hippo was just plain awesome, and the Ram or whatever that was, was asleep & looked like it was going to fall over. The Kookaburra birds were making hilarious noises. The Zoo... what a great place for a laugh!

So a few years ago I somehow came across the most amazing thing ever - a video of a woman from Iowa rapping about gold spandex pants. I immediately knew this woman was amazing. I can't say I've followed her career much, but I have seen a video here or there on youtube & it's always good for a laugh b/c it's just crazy but brilliant & super entertaining. Well that woman is Leslie Hall & I saw her live in concert tonight in Los Angeles. She does not disappoint!

True Devotion

After a visit to my local post office I now have Rocky Votolato's new release as well as a bonus 7". I bought the album online a few weeks back & just love everything he releases. He's really kind of folksy but indie folksy I guess, so if you're into that old country type of thing he might be right up your alley. I've been listening to him for gosh, 7 years now so I'm a little biased. Definitely catch a performance if you can & if you buy his new album, a portion will go to charity.
