Last week, I went with a couple friends to The Adamson House & The Getty Villa in Malibu, CA. I have passed the Adamson House many times and was so delighted to stop for a visit. It is gorgeous. This is a beach house that was built for the Adamson family in 1930. Their family used to own all of Malibu. Their former house burned down & they also had a couple other houses downtown & in Santa Monica. They owed a tile factory & the tiles are prominent throughout the house. Anyway, it's just gorgeous & I think it would have been amazing to grow up in. Plus they have a salt water heated pool, you know, for those times you just can't go in the ocean - I would have lived in it.

We briefly went to the Getty Villa, which would be a lot more fun if we had more time. In our case, we went an hour before closing. There was plenty of pretty sites, like fall leaves, and plenty of hilarious art, like this sculpture of a man on a wine pouch...
