The Doors

Sometimes I sing to myself bits of Spanish Caravan. I'm not really sure why. I don't have any deep longing to go to Portugal or Spain but it's a beautiful song. I'm not sure who wrote the lyrics but the internet tells me it was written by Robbie Krieger. Does that mean music & lyrics? I may never know.

So whenever I think about The Doors, I tend to think of a poem Jim Morrison wrote. I don't pretend to know a lot about poetry, but this one has stayed with me for years.

I am troubled
Immeasurably
By your eyes

I am struck
By the feather
of your soft
Reply

The sound of glass
Speaks quick
Disdain

And conceals
What your eyes fight
To explain
